- ●1 medium, chopped Onion
- ●1 cup, diced Carrots
- ●1 cup, frozen Peas
- ●1 cup Beef broth
- ●2 tablespoons Tomato paste
- ●1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ●2 lbs, peeled and quartered Potatoes
- ●1/2 cup Milk
- ●4 tablespoons Butter
- ●1 teaspoon Salt
- ●1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- 3Add the chopped onion and diced carrots to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 4Stir in the frozen peas, beef broth, tomato paste, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- 5Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 6Meanwhile, boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- 7Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash with milk and butter until smooth and creamy.
- 8Season the mashed potatoes with salt and pepper to taste.
- 9Pour the meat and vegetable mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- 10Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top of the meat mixture.
- 11Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mashed potatoes are golden brown.
